Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC)
In my opinion this is one of the most valuable traffic skills to have. If you are good at PPC, then you can drive traffic anywhere, anytime for anybody. If you wrap your head around that sentence you realize how much power and control that offers you in business.
Second, you start getting traffic immediately. With google you can have your ad up and running within minutes and have dozens or even hundreds of visitors your first day. You can be building your list from the first day.
You want to know how people can build huge lists fast, by being good at PPC. If down properly the search traffic should opt in from 20% to 35% and the much cheaper but also lesser quality higher quantity content traffic should opt in around 10% to 15%.
Third, you know how the traffic is getting there, because you choose the keywords you bid on and control the entire process from keywords, to the ad to the landing page. By testing and tweaking those variables you can get traffic for pennies and turn it into dollars, it is literally a money mint.
This will be the traffic method I choose for the next two week traffic push.
Search Engine Optimization
First, it is free. You do not have to pay for the traffic other than your time you put into it.
Second, significantly more traffic comes from the regular search results compared to the paid results. I do not know the numbers but would assume it is from 5 to 10 times the traffic.
That means if you get good rankings for just a few keywords, the traffic can be staggering. And it is all free.
That point is worth repeating, billions of web searches are done daily by people looking for information. If you become good at this you can tap into as much of that billions of daily traffic for free.
Third, is is a valuable skill to have. Once you "see the matrix" then you naturally do the right things with everything you do that help your search engine rankings. (If you are like me who doesn't have a clue then you never know what to do and your sites never get ranked well.)
It also means that you can take this skill anywhere and put it to use. Creating affiliate income sites, adsense income sites, lead generation sites, or even consulting for other sites and be paid huge monthly retainers.
Articles/Blog/Social Bookmarking
Again this is free. You do not have to pay for the traffic other than your time you put into it.
To describe it, since a lot of people might not really understand it, you have a blog at your site that you post quality articles to, then have them bookmarked at other sites. This results in both search engine traffic and also traffic from the bookmarking sites. Finally you submit your articles to the various article directories, allowing other sites to use your articles as long as they include your resource box at the end which links back to your site.
This is what's hot right now. And because it is newer that could mean less competition because other marketers and website owners do not understand it or now how to use it.
I have also seen people generate lots of traffic using this form of traffic.
This also has a lot of similarity to search engine form of traffic. The big difference is this focuses on the blog for the traffic while the search engine method focuses on your site as a whole and in many cases does not involve a blog. This is good starting out method because it is free and you can see traffic relatively quickly.

What about
all the other traffic methods?
Yes, things like email advertising, ebay, amazon, craigslist, etc... are all valid. But they are not at the same level as the Big 4. So we will cover some of the better ones in the future. And some have already been discussed on the 10 in 90 forum, just do a search, for example the term craigslist and you will find posts talking about how to get traffic using that popular (and free) website.
